For anyone who hasn’t heard, there’s a big deal going on in Lancaster two weekends from now. The dudes over at Pure Sludge have teamed up with Biltwell and a cast of international artists to put on the sickest helmet show east of the Mississippi. We’ve all drooled over the artwork on the covers of Dice and Show Class and now is the chance to meet some of these great artists—And buy their work—And wear it on your dome while you blast around on your motorcycle!
$5 entry to the art show (FREE if you ride yer motorbike!) gets you a raffle ticket and wrist band to drink. We’ll have free beer inside while supplies last. So many raffle prizes and amazing helmets to look at.
After party (21+) is right across the street at American Bar & Grill from 9:00p – 2:00a.
If anyone wants to ride out with me:
Lets meet at Atlantis Lost Bar on Frankford Avenue at 1:30pm Saturday the 27th.
Come gassed with a bag of grass. I’m camping out for the night.
I’ve never once made it to the Brooklyn Invitational. Probably due to the fact that we go so hard in August that I need a year to sleep off the hangover. I remember the first year I rode up to Brooklyn from Philadelphia for the NYC Vintage Motorcycle Show. It was 2010 and I just started riding with all the cafe guys from Philly. Some were older and experienced and others just plain fearless. I’d say I was on the unexperienced and fearless kick, riding up and back that day in the pouring down rain with a 3/4 helmet and a pleather jacket as rain gear. It was all about the motorcycle show that first year, but now the annual ride-up has degraded into late night party in the caverns of the Works Engineering motorcycle shop. The motorcycle show just seems to be there in the background. After going through this year’s photos, I realized I couldn’t take photos worth a damn. So, here are photos from that first year.
That is, if you live in the Philadelphia area. There’s always a great cast of characters and the best part is, they’re good at what they do.
I just finished the website for them, opening their company up to a broader market. It’s also a great way to make communication easier for their customers and vendors with the new contact section. Check it out.
